  1. Dear soon to be Rabbi Lawson, Just read the interview with you on JTA. I am the retired Executive Director of Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills. In that capacity I attended a national conference of Executive Directors. One of them is related to a congregant who attended a synagogue (I believe in Savannah) where Alysa Stanton (female African American Rabbi) worked as a Rabbi while still studying at HUC. The congregant was telling her relative about her unusual Rabbinic Intern and said, “Change is difficult. Sometime really difficult. Imagine, a woman Rabbi.” This story warmed our collective hearts and I hope gives you hope. Best regards and wishes for a very successful career – however it is you define success. Ellis

    1. Hi Ellis Kirschenbaum. Thank you so much for reaching out to me. I apologize for taking so long to respond I get a lot of spam on my website which I am trying to clean up. Thanks again and I really do hope that we meet in the future.
